Jacob is a first year Ph.D. student in Clinical Science and Neuroscience at IU under the mentorship of Dr. Krista Wisner. He got his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2019, with a minor in Neuroscience. After graduating, Jacob spent time as a postbaccalaureate working at the Maryland Psychiatric Research Center, part of the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, primarily studying the effects of stress on reward and salience systems in schizophrenia-spectrum disorders.
Jacob’s primary research interests include studying the impacts of stress and trauma on psychosis symptoms. He is particularly interested in utilizing neuroimaging (e.g. fMRI) and psychophysiological (e.g., heart-rate variability, electrodermal activity) techniques to investigate how stress and trauma affect the brain and body, contributing to both clinical and subclinical symptoms across the psychosis spectrum.

In his free time, Jacob enjoys video games, listening to music, and exploring restaurants and coffee shops in Bloomington.
