Jaime is presently completing his Clinical Internship in the Department of Psychiatry at The Ohio State University Medical School, Columbus, Ohio. Jaime is working towards his Ph.D.s in Clinical Science and Neuroscience. He graduated in 2012 and 2016 from California State University, Northridge with a B.A. in Psychology and a M.A. in Clinical Psychology, respectively. Later, he spent two years working in Dr. Michael Green’s lab at the UCLA/West LA VA campus, studying social cognitive deficits in persons with psychosis.

Jaime uses electrophysiological and neuroimaging techniques (EEG, fMRI) to unravel the underlying neuronal correlates of social cognitive deficits present in psychosis spectrum disorders and those lying within the schizotypy continuum. His current research areas include:

  1. Determining the cerebellum's contribution to social cognition in healthy and psychosis spectrum populations
  2. Facial affect recognition deficits across the schizotypy continuum
  3. Utilizing various EEG biomarkers to categorize psychosis heterogeneity

During his time at IU, Jaime has been supported under the following grants and awards:

  • Program in Neuroscience Graduate Travel Award
  • Heller Student Support Fund
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 Clinical Translational Science Training Fellowship
  • Rebec Family Neuroscience Fellowship
  • IU Program in Neuroscience Fellowship

In his free time, Jaime enjoys listening to music, playing video games, and lifting weights.
