Eric is an IU alumnus, having graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and a Certificate in Clinical Psychological Science. He had been in the lab since his sophomore year. He is interested in both exogenous and endogenous cannabinoid contributions to stress responsivity as well as potential sex differences in the interaction between cannabinoids and stress. He is further interested in examining the neural contributions of cannabis use and stress (both chronic and acute) towards the development and maintenance of severe mental illnesses (i.e., schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorders) utilizing both animal and human models. In the future, Eric plans on attending graduate school for Clinical Psychology.
Eric worked as a research assistant in the Department of Biology through the Groups Scholars STEM Initative in 2016. He is a former mentor of the HOPE Mentoring program, working to reduce recidivism rates in juvenile centers.
When not in the lab, Eric enjoys reading and watching college sports.
